SUBMISSIONS:
- All entries should specifically address the five (5) relevant judging criteria for the award – remember these are the only criteria on which the submissions will be judged
- All photographs and supporting documentation can be uploaded onto the website to a maximum of five (5) files
- On receipt of your submission, you will receive a confirmation email
All nine (9) organisational awards will be judged on the same five (5) equally weighted criteria:
- Innovation & originality (including improvements)
- Engagement (including those outside the direct park and leisure sector, like health)
- Excellence (towards industry best practice)
- Sustainability (environmental, social, financial)
- Achievements (outcomes, efficiency, effectiveness, benefits, satisfaction)
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
David Aldous Student of the Year Award
SUBMISSIONS:
- Must be the nominee’s own responses to the judging criteria (below)
- Should provide evidence of outstanding contribution to a research project
- Must include evidence of dedication towards pursuit of qualifications
- Must include a formal reference from their lecturer and/or employer supporting the information provided in the above responses
- Must address each of the relevant judging criteria for this award
- Should include a photograph of the nominee (high res. jpeg)
- All photographs and supporting documentation can be uploaded onto the website to a maximum of five (5) files
- On receipt of your submission, you will receive a confirmation email
The award will be judged against the following 5 criteria:
- Relevant personal achievements
- Effective communication skills
- Evidence of teamwork
- Capacity to be an effective ambassador for the parks and leisure sector.
- Awareness of the current issues facing the parks and leisure sector
Emerging Leader of the Year Award
SUBMISSIONS:
- Must include a formal reference from their supervisor (employer)
- Must address the relevant judging criteria for this award
- Should include a photograph of the nominee (high res jpeg)
- All photographs and supporting documentation can be uploaded onto the website to a maximum of five (5) files
- On receipt of your submission, you will receive a confirmation email
The award will be judged against the following4 criteria:
- Evidence of ‘pursuit of excellence’ in career to date
- Commitment to professional development through education and training
- Demonstrated leadership among other parks and leisure professionals at work and/or in Parks & Leisure Australia activities
- Demonstrated contribution to the parks and leisure industry through personal initiative and particular highlights
Frank Stewart Distinguished Service Award
Submissions should present a description of the nominated person’s demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to the parks and leisure industry taking into consideration their length of contribution and his/her impact on the industry. In particular it should include:
- The contributions that have enhanced the development of colleagues within his/her work place, Parks & Leisure Australia, and/or the broader parks and leisure industry, taking into consideration specific achievements and any barriers that were overcome
- Demonstrated high standard of professionalism and outstanding leadership within the parks and leisure industry (a minimum of 10 years)
- Personal and professional contributions that have enhanced the standing of the industry as a profession
- A copy of the nominee’s resume (one page overview summary) including work highlights and noting their contribution and achievements is to be included in the application
- Two written references should be included (maximum of one page for each), each should be supportive of the claims made in the nomination and clearly state the referee’s name, current position, length of time in that position, qualifications and contact details
- Should include a photograph of the nominee (hi-res jpeg file)
- All photographs and supporting documentation can be uploaded onto the website to a maximum of five (5) files
